SoFab and LRA partner to offer continuing legal education

For the second year, the Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA) is partnering with the Southern Food and Beverage Museum (SoFab) to offer up to seven hours of Continuing Legal Education credit, including one hour of ethics and one hour of professionalism, depending on your state bar requirements. Hungry in the South,2012 Continuing Legal Education, Food, Drink and the Law, is Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 from 8:30-5:30 p.m. at the SoFab in the Riverwalk.

The topics to be covered range from issues of interest to restaurants, such as intellectual property, information technology and the rise of food trucks, to recent developments in the Farm Bill, constitutional questions about the distribution of wine and beer, to questions about the importation of raw milk cheese, among others.

“This CLE series is offered specifically for attorneys who represent restaurants and other foodservice providers,” said Wendy Waren, VP of Communications, LRA. “These sessions are designed to give a well-rounded overview of the issues that exist for our industry and attorneys who work within the foodservice sector.”

Local and national guest speakers will bring a wide depth of knowledge on the various topics, some of which we are seeing recently emerge in New Orleans. Visit www.southernfood.org to register to attend.
