LRA Northwest Chapter to Host Clay Shoot

The Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA) Northwest Chapter will host its annual clay shoot Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Los Paloma Sporting Range in Benton, La. Competition begins at 9 a.m.
Participants can choose from two different shooter packages: the .12 Gauge includes a five-man team, lunch and t-shirts and is $400; the .20 Gauge includes a single-shooter entry, lunch and t-shirt and is $100. Prizes will be awarded to the top team and raffle tickets, mulligans and a wobble station shoot will be available for purchase.
Ammunition is limited to field loads only (3 ¼ drams powder max and shot size no larger than 7 ½) and no gun larger than a .12 Gauge. Participants must bring their own ammo. None will be available at the event.
This annual fundraiser will support the LRA Education Foundation (LRAEF) and the LRA’s political advocacy efforts. The LRAEF is governed by a board of directors made up of restaurants, industry experts and educators in the hospitality industry. As the philanthropic foundation of the LRA, the LRAEF exists to enhance our community through expanded educational and career opportunities, the formation of strategic partnerships and the elevation of our professional standards and practices.

LRA announces new Northwest sales representative

The Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA) is pleased to welcome Jessica McGee as its new Northwest Sales Representative.

In her new position, McGee will be charged with overseeing northwest Louisiana’s LRA membership—retaining members and recruiting new ones. She will also promote and generate policies with the LRA Self Insurer’s Fund for workers’ compensation program.
McGee has a strong sales background and was most recently a business development professional with Boundless Network, where she built strong relationships with key organizations. She was also previously employed by Mid America Merchandising as an account executive.
McGee attended Louisiana State University and her training includes ASI Sales and Franklin Covey Time Management. She lives in Shreveport.

Eat Free for a Year, Support Future Foodservice Professionals

LRA Northwest Chapter holds 52 Weeks 2 Dine Raffle, with proceeds benefiting the LRA Education Foundation’s ProStart® program
 
The Louisiana Restaurant Association (LRA) Northwest Chapter is holding a raffle, 52 Weeks 2 Dine, to benefit the LRA Education Foundation and its ProStart® program, which includes four Northwest Louisiana schools—Caddo Career Center, Mansfield High School, Negreet High School and North Caddo High School.

The mission of the ProStart program is to increase student awareness of careers in the restaurant/foodservice industry and to provide the restaurant industry with a forum to present and recruit ProStart students. Participating students complete a nationally-endorsed, dynamic and comprehensive curriculum which encourages them to learn all aspects of operating and managing a restaurant or foodservice and hospitality establishment, in school and in structured hands-on worksites.

The winner of the raffle will receive 52- $100 gift certificates to area restaurants—enough to eat at your favorite establishments once a week for an entire year! Each ticket is $10 and can be purchased until June 16, 2013 at the following restaurants:

  • Ernest’s Orleans Restaurant, 1601 Spring St., Shreveport
  • Monjuni’s, 1315 Louisiana Ave., Shreveport
  • Notini’s Restaurant, 2013 Airline Dr., Bossier City
  • Quiznos, 1898 Airline Dr., Bossier City
  • Texas Roadhouse, 1005A Gould Dr., Bossier City
